Details

In the generalized / damped harmonic gauge, the right hand side of the gauge equation \( \square x_a = H_a\) is sourced by non-vanishing functions \( H_a\). This variable stores the initial or starting value of the spacetime derivatives of those functions \( \partial_b H_a\), which are set by the user (based on the choice of initial data) to begin evolution.
